10 Cute Cottage Finds in Granite Belt Wine Country
Stanthorpe and the surrounding Granite Belt wine region is dotted with adorable cottages which make for a dreamy escape to Queensland’s wine country. Most of our cosy cottages are hidden away in quiet corners amongst the trees and towering granite faces of the region, so we’re uncovering 10 of our favourites.
Close to dining and all that’s happening in the centre of Stanthorpe, but surprisingly tucked away in thick rocky bushland, Honeysuckle Cottages are a great little find. With a log fire, spa and self-contained kitchen facilities they tick all the boxes for a weekend away.
Apple Blossom Cottage
This picture perfect 3-bedroom cottage sleeps up to six people and offers all the charms of the early 1900’s, with modern conveniences. It’s just a short stroll to the cafes and shops of Stanthorpe’s CBD and there’s plenty of reason to stay in, with a cosy fireplace in the lounge and a spa bath adjoining the bedroom.
Briar Rose Cottages
With a lacework spiral staircase to a loft bedroom, Silky Oak Cottage is an entirely adorable cottage inside and out. Enjoy the cool night sitting by the outside fire pit with a glass of wine. The one-bedroom Silky Oak Cottage is one of three different cottages at Briar Rose Cottages, located in Stanthorpe.
Seclusion and luxury are words that come quickly to mind about Diamondvale Cottages’ in the bushland outskirts of Stanthorpe. The cluster of heritage cottages sit nestled near the banks of Quart Pot Creek and a relaxing creekside walk winds all the way to the Stanthorpe coffee shops in the CBD. Even the communal lounge is adorable – it’s a rustic pioneer hut that looks like a page out of the history books.
Cypress Ridge Cottages
The quaint Queenslander style cottages at Cypress Ridge are on Eukey Road in Ballandean – yep that’s the road where you’ll find a whole string of cellar doors! These cottages are on the privacy of 70 acres of granite boulders and native bushland and if you’re a garlic fan you’ll be interested to learn this is also a garlic farm on this property – it’s here the artisan Cypress Ridge Produce is grown!
It’s not far from here to see the spring wildflowers in Girraween National Park.

Located in Ballandean, 20 minutes south of Stanthorpe, it’s just a walk to dining in Ballandean and the views are towards neighbouring vineyards and surrounding hillsides. A great option for two couples or families, with 2 separate ensuite bedrooms in this cosy cottage.
R and R On The Ravine
Valley views towards the dam and across 113 acres of bushland make R and R on the Ravine’s cottages a picturesque location. It’s just 7 minutes drive into Stanthorpe from here and so these recently updated make for a stylish base, not far from both Ballandean and Stanthorpe. The name gives away one of this spot’s treasures, a private ravine that is available to explore on the property for those that like a little adventure.
The Folly Ballandean Cottage
