The wineries visited changes everyday so it is really a mystery tour. \nDepart Warwick Station at 08:00am for a leisurely heritage train trip to Stanthorpe\, arriving at 10:15am. \nThe train will climb the Silverwood range to Dalveen\, before you pass The Summit\, the highest QR station\, and then run into Stanthorpe\, heart of the Granite Belt wine country. \nFrom here your coach transfer will be waiting to take you on a tour of up to 5 wineries with lunch provided at one of the wineries. The wineries visited changes everyday so it is really a mystery tour. \nThe coach will return in time for a train departure from Stanthorpe Station at 3:50pm for a trip back down to Warwick as the sun sets\, arriving at 6:00pm. \nLunch is included as a part of the package. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we travel the line from Warwick to Wallangarra\, retracing the path of the Sydney Mail\, stepping back into a bygone era. \nTwo ticket price options: one for the train trip only and another option for the trip and lunch included in the one price. \nDepart Warwick Station at 08:00am for a leisurely day on the heritage train to Wallangarra\, arriving at 12:10pm. \nAfter easing into the uphill sections between Warwick (1\,492ft)\, and Silverwood (1\,913ft)\, we leave the roads and enjoy some hard work as we wind past sandstone ruins of Spring and Mineral Creek bridges before a short stop to check the locomotive before passing through the two tunnels on the line. \nAfter this brief pause\, its time to enjoy the hard work again as we climb the Silverwood range to Dalveen where\, before we pass The Summit (3\,035ft)\, the highest QR station. Since leaving Warwick\, we have risen 1\,543 feet in the space of 32 miles. After passing The Summit we coast down into Stanthorpe for a 30 minute stop. \nWe continue from here at 10:45am\, descending into granite country as we make our way to the Queensland – New South Wales Border. After passing Lyra (2\,305ft)\, we start to work again rising 577 feet into Wallangarra (2\,882ft)\, where we will make our stop at 12:10pm for lunch. \nEnjoy the scenery as the train crew work to prepare the train for our return journey. \nTrain departure from Wallangarra is at 2:00pm for a leisurely heritage train trip back to Stanthorpe\, arriving at 3.35pm. We will depart here at 3.50pm to make our way back down the range with a setting sun before we arrive back in Warwick at 6.00pm. \nLunch\nLet us pamper you\, and enjoy the experience of stepping out of your train and straight to your 2 course lunch at the Railway Cafe\, located in the old Wallangarra Refreshment Rooms Restraurant. \nEnjoy the sights and sounds as your crew work to prepare your train for the return journey\, whilst you wine and dine on your delicious lunch. \nThis option can only be pre-purchased with you train ticket and is available at an extra cost. \nFor those who wish to go searching\, lunch can also be obtained from one of the local establishments\, or at the Railway Cafe. \n

DESCRIPTION:In 2019 Robert Channon Wines will host eight concerts as part of the ever popular Concert Series in their ‘Swigmore Hall’\, with this concert in September being a piano recital by concert pianist Roman Rudnytsky. \n$25 ticket includes a glass of wine at interval. \nBook in for lunch before the concert at the Singing Lake Café and enjoy the delicious Spanish menu at Paola’s the Winemakers Kitchen. \nABOUT ROMAN RUDNYTSKY…\nRoman Rudnytsky in an internationally active concert pianist of Ukrainian background whose frequent performances take him all over the world – to every continent and places in-between. He is in fact one of the most traveled of all concert pianists\, having played in more countries than almost all others. As of 2014\, he has performed in about 100 countries – more countries than most classical performers of any kind have played in.  \nIn addition to performances in capital cities and important musical centers\, he often plays in places away from the musical mainstream\, bringing the world and pleasure of classical music to audiences which seldom experience this type of music in live performance. He has received much acclaim in the world’s press and many reinvitations. \nBorn in New York into a prominent Ukrainian musical family\, he began the study of piano at age 4 and gave his first full recital at age 7. He is a graduate of the famous Juilliard School in New York and also did additional studies at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore\, Maryland and at masterclasses in Austria (the “Mozarteum”) and Italy. \nMr. Rudnytsky is a prizewinner in 10 piano competitions\, including such prestigious ones as the International Leventritt Competition (New York) and International J.S. Bach Competition (Washington) and\, in Italy\, the “F.Busoni” and “A. Casagrande” International Piano Competitions. \nIn addition to his many recitals\, Mr. Rudnytsky has also appeared as a soloist with many orchestras around the world. To date\, he has played over 45 different works for piano and orchestra with them. A great honor indeed\, he gave the British\, Latin American and Australian premiere performances of the recently-discovered Liszt “Concerto No. 3 in E Flat” between 1990 and 1993. \nHe also conducts master classes and workshops for local piano students and teachers during the course of his travels. The settings for these range from universities to small\, rural towns and villages. \nSince 1984\, he has played concerts and conducted master classes in more than 35 countries under the auspices of US Embassies—in a number of them: repeatedly. \nMr. Rudnytsky is now “Professor Emeritus” of Youngstown State University (Dana School of Music)\, where he was on the piano and music faculty snce 1972. He previously served on the piano faculties of the Indiana University School of Music (Bloomington\, Indiana) and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory\, in addition to being “Artist-in-Residence” at two Australian universities. \n
