Farm’s Successful Diversification to Tourism Campground
Foxbar Falls Campground are getting ready for their first summer with water activities, as they reflect on their successful decision to diversify from almost 100 years of farming in the Stanthorpe region to add a waterfront tourist campground to their business.
This Campgrounds is Actually on a Farm!
Foxbar Falls Campground is the newest spot to camp around Stanthorpe for spring and summer days on the lake and cool nights by the campfire.
“We weren’t crazy to think this place could be something awesome,” said Tracey Harslett looking back on the decision to develop Foxbar Falls Campground near Stanthorpe.
“We are Harslett Farm. The 200 acres of cultivation have been the livelihood of the Harslett Family for almost 100 years. Celery, chinese cabbage (wombok), red cabbage, cos lettuce, iceberg lettuce, carrots, grean beans, kale, cauliflower, lobok, wine grapes, apples, watercress have all been grown on the farm at some stage.”
“Due to changing times and circumstances, from 2017/2018, the farm will be used for growing carrots and onions, with a side of watercress. Growing these much less labour-intensive crops have allowed us the chance to develop another side to the family farm. It is the natural beauty of this Stanthorpe property that we want to share with you, through our campground Foxbar Falls.”
First Summer with Water Activities
How are campground operators Brendon, Tracy and Tim feeling ahead of their first summer with water for watersports and swimming?
“Warm (but not too hot) days, followed by cool nights and campfires. We are pumped!”

“With fantastic dam levels and a wet spring forecast, here at Foxbar Falls Campground we are pumped for our first Summer season with water activities on offer,” says Tracey.
“Through spring and summer swimming and non-motorised on-water activities could definitely be an option.”
“Swimming, kayaking, stand up paddleboards will be the way to go.”

Take a dip in the lake, go hiking on the property, cycling and relax by a campfire.
Just a short drive away, wineries, breweries, cafes and restaurants, as well as Girraween National Park!
Swag campers to big rig operators are catered for here. There are hot showers and toilets, and each site has its own fire pit.
“Powered sites and lakeside sites will be popular, so book ahead to get in on this exciting new camping spot.”
“Wildflowers and bird spotting this spring will also be insane. With the rain we’ve had, the wildflowers should be pretty magnificent.”
