Where to Stay with a Large Group: 20+ in Stanthorpe
We’ve put together a list of places to book that are ideal for accommodating a large group on a trip to Granite Belt Wine Country…

20 Cabins + Large House = Sleeps up to 70 People
Granite Belt Retreat (onsite at Granite Belt Brewery) has lots of capacity for larger groups in both their accommodation, restaurant and separate function room. There are 20 cosy cedar cabins, plus a self-contained house that sleeps 10 guests. The cabins are dotted amongst the quiet bushland, just 5 minutes outside of Stanthorpe and with a micro-brewery onsite, beer lovers will be just as pleased on this visit to wine country!
Capacity: approximately 70 (dependant on bed configuration required)
Configuration: 16 cabins have 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. Plus there are family cabins with 1 queen bed and 1 bunk bed. Hidden House has 4 Queen beds and 1 bunk bed.

8 Cabins + House = Sleeps up to 38 People
Ridgemill Estate Cabins in the Vineyard is a deluxe option for groups (they are awarded Silver in the Deluxe Accommodation Category of the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards!) Accommodation available includes 8 cabins and a Winery Escape House. The winery can provide private wine tastings of Ridgemill Estate wines and there are communal spaces to gather, including modern undercover bbq huts, a deck (pictured) plus an adjoining undercover verandah at the cellar door.
Capacity: 22 people (or up 38 people with use sofa beds in studio cabins)
Configuration: 8 x studio cabins (each have 1 king bed and 1 double sofa bed, max 4 people). 3 Bedroom Winery Escape House (1 king bed, 1 queen bed and 1 king / 2 single bed)
7 Apartments + Cabins = Sleeps 38+ People
The possibilities for groups are exciting at Sommerville Valley, where a whole range of options are all at the same property: 7 luxurious self-contained apartments, lots of affordable non-unsuited cabins and camping too.
Facilities including a pool and a children’s playground.

Configuration:
3 – bedroom units (3x) (king bed, queen bed, 2x single bed)
2 – bedroom units (3x) (king bed, queen bed + 1 single bed)
2 – bedroom unit with disabled facilities (1x)
Plus there there are non-unsuited cabins adding to the capacity even further!
10 Chalets = Sleeps 20+ People
Stay with your group amongst the serenity of 400 acres of bushland at the 10 architect designed self-contained chalets of Girraween Environmental Lodge. Bushwalking trails and the many giant boulders of Girraween National Park are on your doorstep, wildlife everywhere and right up near your chalet, plus a dam with kayaking, a pool and an outdoor hot tub. This is a great spot to share many outdoor adventures as a group, then with the option to retreat to the privacy of your own chalet.
19 Rooms + House = Sleeps 50+ People
Granite Belt Motel‘s 19 refurbished rooms make this motel a great choice for groups. There’s a mix of King Rooms, Family Rooms and more, plus the motel operates a large 3 bedroom house a short walk away, overlooking Quart Pot Creek.
The beautifully landscaped grounds and exceptional breakfast menu sets this motel apart.
21 Rooms = Sleeps 50+ People
Apple & Grape Motel is a great location, right in the CBD of Stanthorpe. Their 21 rooms include 4 family rooms. The motel is next to Quart Pot Creek, a really popular spot for walking by the creekside, which meanders through through the town and even out to the historical old Red Bridge walk. CBD shopping and relaxing walks all on your doorstep here.
20 Rooms = Sleeps up to 50 People
High Street Motor Inn has its own restaurant onsite – the Aussie Beef Steakhouse and accommodation is available to book with meals included. There’s a buffet breakfast available and lots of space for groups to dine together.
Farmhouse + Cottage + 2 Modern Yurts = Sleeps up to 22 people
James Farmhouse is an affordable option for a large group wanting to be all in together. It’s an old farmhouse right in the heart of Ballandean, just a walk to the Tavern for dinner or to St Judes Cellar Door & Bistro. There’s lots of bedrooms, an old style farmhouse kitchen and a large living area with a fireplace.
Farmhouse sleeps: 14 people (2 x double bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 double beds, 1 x bedroom with queen and single bed, sleep out with 2 single beds, 1 window bed)
Use the two Yurts and Rose Cottage onsite to stay as an even larger group all at this property.

4 Sleep Cabins = Sleeps up to 20 people

Cannon Creek Cabins offers an affordable option for groups of up to 20 people, with nice/new but basic accommodation, combined with incredible communal facilities. The sleep cabins are non-ensuited and inside each cabin is one room with a combination of queen bed and king singles. The toilets and showers are a short stroll away, in the excellent communal guesthouse. The guesthouse features a large kitchen, dining, lounge and amenities.
Set on the privacy of 40 acres, only ten minutes from Stanthorpe. With total capacity 20 people, it’s easily possible to have this entire place to yourselves!
Capacity: 20 people
Configuration: 4 x Cabins each with one Sleep Room. Sleep rooms have Queen beds and King Singles in one room. Non-ensuited.
8 Cottages = Sleeps up to 19 People
Booking as a group at the 8 Honeysuckle Cottages is a handy spot all year round for groups and in summer there’s an added bonus. In summer months their large indoor restaurant is vacant and available for groups to freely use as their own space to hang out and meet up, as it’s no. There are eight charming brick cottages with federation era decor nestled amongst thick mountain bushland only 3km north of Stanthorpe.
Capacity: 19 people
Configuration: 6 cottages with 1 queen bed (sleep 2 people), 2 x two queen bedroom cottages plus a sofa (sleeping up to 5 people each)
