What made you decide to become art makers?
“We liked to be creative and wanted to find a use for old unused metal objects”
What did your introduction to this art making look like?
“Making a large dinosaur and a barbed wire hat.”
What were you doing before art making?
Hilary – Nurse Allan – Maintenance officer
What does your day-to-day look like?
“We do about three hours in the workshop each day”
Do you have a favourite work, or one you are most excited about and why?
Hilary – “Head silhouettes with copper wire hair and metal decorations. They create a lot of interest.” Allan – “Metal eagles. Lifelike and impressive garden decorations”
Do you have a favourite tool in your trade, that you just couldn’t work without?
“A cordless riveter”
What do you wish everyone knew about your art works?
“We make things that we like to make and that offer a challenge. Â We make individual pieces. No two are the same.”
When you’re not making art, what do you like to do out and about on the Granite Belt?
“We are keen gardeners and birdwatchers”
