Established in 1992 Heritage Estate Wines converted an old brick cold stores at Cottonvale Granite Belt, Queensland into an atmospheric cellar door and white wine vineyard at the top end of the Granite Belt wine region.

This is the last cellar door before Brisbane.  The red wine vineyard is at the south of the Granite Belt where the altitude is lower and the temperatures are warmer for the reds.   This strategy has mitigated loss against hail, fire, rain etc.

Having won many prestigious awards for their wines in 2015 Heritage Estate Wines received a 5 star rating in James Halliday’s 2016 Australian Wine Companion. They were also named, by James as one of the Ten Dark Horse wineries of 2016.

Heritage Estate continues to be a James Halliday 5 Star Winery for 2019 in the James Halliday Wine Companion.

Our high altitude helps rank us as one of the coolest wine growing regions in Australia, and that, combined with our deep sandy soils helps us produce elegant yet powerfully flavoured wines.  Indeed the Cottonvale vineyard is likely to continue to be the “Highest ★★★★★ 5 Star Winery in Australia”.

The Granite Belt is one of the fastest emerging wine regions in the country with a decomposed granite soil that repels disease, and encourages many varieties of healthy vines, that will stand the Granite Belt Wine Region in good stead against future climate change.
