What made you decide to become winemakers?
“A love of wine. In Tom’s case he is a foodie/chef of some talent too.”
Did you have careers before?
Jeff was previously a Pharmacist and Tom was in the food industry and a student.
What does your day-to-day actually look like?
“Constant attention to the vines with bursts of winemaking and attention to cellar door”
Do you have a favourite product, or one you are most excited about?
“For both of us it’s our red blend, the Paragon.”
Do you have a favourite tool in your trade, that you just couldn’t live/work without?
“For both of us it’s our smaller tractor.”
What do you wish everyone knew about your products?
“The care and hard work that goes into the wines.”
When you’re not winemaking, what do you like to do out and about on the Granite Belt?
Tom – No time except to look after his one year old daughter (but he used to be in a band). Jeff – “Just socialising with friends.”
Where can you meet Jeff and Tom?
When visiting the Bungawarra Winery it’s just a two man show, Jeff and Tom, so you can be sure you’ll have the opportunity to stop and have a chat to either or both of them when you come for a wine tasting.
