Tastes, Sights, Smells, Sounds and a Touch of Class!

The dinners offer an indulgence in all the five senses, with taste, sight, smells, sounds and a touch of class.  It’s thought to be the only sensory experience of its kind in Queensland, combining tastes of gourmet dishes and wines, smells of ‘Le Nez du Vin’ aroma kit to identify wine scents, sights of silent movies projected overhead and the sounds of a string quartet ensemble.

An 8-Course Degustation Menu

Your eight-course degustation dinner, presented by an acclaimed international chef, showcases house-made delicacies from exclusive Granite Belt produce, along with treats like Coffin Bay oysters and French Champagne on arrival.

Frock up!

Guests love the formal nature of the dinners and delight in the excuse to get dressed up.  Men are asked to come in dinner jackets if they have one and the ladies frock up.  To capture the occasion there is even a professional photographer at all the dinners to capture and share the photos with the guests. Digital copies are provided to guests at no additional expense and are a lovely souvenir of the experience and capture guests looking their best!

A Wine Experience

Each course is paired with award-winning wines like Strange Birds Sagrantino, Fiano, Malbec, and Ansonica – or the limited and oldest Shiraz vines in Queensland from Old Vine Shiraz.

Guests are encouraged to delve into conversations of discovery about the Estate and its wine-making process, as your senses are taken on a journey with a live string quartet, silent movies creating a visual feast, and an exclusive 54 scent ‘Nez du Vin’ kit to align the correct aromas to wines.

The ‘Le Nez du Vin’ wine scent identification experience offered during the dinners is the only of its kind in Queensland. Heritage Estate are an exclusive Queensland distributor of the 54 scent aroma kits from France and over dinner guests are introduced to the little bottles of scents.

“It makes pennies drop for our guests when they smell the little scent bottles.  In our Old Vine Shiraz there are the aromas of liquorice, chocolate, earthy tobacco, truffle and boxwood and by smelling the scents individually in the bottles they are able to identify them in the wine tasting,” says Mrs Fenwick.  “Our guests are finding it totally enlightening to be able to verbalise a smell that they know is familiar in the wine, but it’s hard for them to verbalise until the kit reveals the scents.”

Silent Movies in a Historic Cellar Door Building

Overhead during dinner conversation black and white silent movies are projected – classics like ‘African Queen’ and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.

Once an old apple store, the Heritage Estate cellar door is one of the oldest in the region and laden with antiques and a grand open fireplace it sets an impressive backdrop to dinner events.
